The Community Foundation of Dickinson County has redesigned its competitive grant program to better address local needs, encourage collaboration, and support projects with lasting community impact.

More than $175,000 in grant funding will be available during the upcoming grant cycle, which opens August 15, 2026, and closes September 15, 2026.

The new grant structure provides several funding opportunities based on the size, scope, and purpose of each project:

Senior Services Grants will support programs and services that enhance the health, independence, safety and quality of life of older adults throughout Dickinson County.

Community Support Grants will provide support for local programs, services, equipment and community projects that address immediate needs and improve the quality of life for area residents.

Strategic Impact Grants will provide awards for larger projects that demonstrate significant community benefit, strong planning, collaboration and measurable long-term results.

Innovation and Pilot Grants will provide awards for new ideas, emerging programs and creative approaches that address community needs.

The Foundation will also continue its Proactive and Board-Directed Grant Program, an invitation-only opportunity that allows the Board of Directors to respond to significant needs and strategic opportunities throughout Dickinson County.

“We recognize that not every community need or nonprofit project is the same,” said Elizabeth Weese, executive director of the Community Foundation of Dickinson County. “These new grant categories will allow organizations to apply for the type and, eventually, level of funding that best matches their project. Our goal is to make the process clearer while supporting both immediate community needs and larger projects with the potential for long-term impact.”

Eligible nonprofit organizations, governmental entities, schools and other qualifying charitable organizations serving Dickinson County are encouraged to review the grant guidelines and determine which category best fits their proposal.

Applications must be submitted through the Foundation’s online grant portal between August 15 and September 15, 2026. Late applications will not be accepted.

Additional information, eligibility requirements and application materials will be available on the Community Foundation of Dickinson County’s website.
